Where did she go?
Carie is a delightful young woman in every way. As a student in my Honors 11 Engligh, Honors 12 English, and College Writing Lab classes, she has proven herself to be mature, intelligent, and goal oriented. She is a talented writer who uses her higher level thinking skills to make connections between literature and life. She is an ideal student in that she is always alert and aware during class; although, because of an alphabetical seating arrangement, she sits in the back of my classroom this year she always has on her face a look of intense interest and concentration. In short, she recognizes the importance of ideas and is fascinated by the process of analysis. This quality makes her ideal college material. Her stability, her intelligence, and her excellent work ethic will insure that she finishes college. Offering her a scholarship would constitute a superb investment in her future and the future of this country, as it is in young people of Carie's caliber that our hope rests.
